Just changing from my bird post for awhile. This picture is of the Standard Speaker newspaper holder. It has a dark purple clematis climbing up the post which looks so beautiful. It's such a dark purple color. There are so many types of clematis vines and so many colors as well. Then underneath the clematis vine on the ground is the lavender plant. A beautiful plant with a light...

Look at these bleeding hearts aren't they lovely? They look so pretty I think. The colors are really nice. There shape is quite different then so many flowers. Bleeding hearts are native to Japan. They are great shade plants for the perennial garden. They have a fern like leaf, and the flowers come on arching stems. Very beautiful.
These can be put in part to full shade and can have av...

Here is a picture of a magnolia tree. They are beautiful trees. They are on of the first ones to burst open in early spring time. There are different types of magnolia trees. So before you purchase one you want to read up on them to see that you are getting the one you think you're getting. The foliage on the magnolia tree is a deciduous broad leaf. There height is about 25 feet...

Pink Hyacinths
Bue Hyacinths
Blue and White Hyacinths
Take a look at these hyacinths that I have in the back yard. They are all beautiful colors. The flowers have beautiful colors and the fragrance is something you can't get enough of. Especially those of us that like these plants anyway :) They are a member of the Lily family. Besi...

This is a picture of grape hyacinths coming up. I love how small they are and the color of them. Grape hyacinths also know as muscari are not really hyacinths at all. They are members of the lily family. They usually do not grow more then 10 inches tall. They produce a blue or purple petal that have white tips on them. Which gives them the grape like appearance. One hyacinth alon...

This was one of the roses that was in my rose garden. I always thought this was a beautiful color.
The 3 most important things for roses are light water and fertilizer. The most harmful bugs for your roses are Aphids, Frog Hoppers, Leaf Cutter Bees, Leaf Hoppers, Cane Borers, Gall Wasps, Rose Maggots, Rose Midge, Sawflies, Weevils just to name quite a few. Other pests are Spid...

These impatiens I had purchased from a nursery to be planted in a porch box. If you look close at the container where the one flower has been taken out already its a small thin greenish looking thing and you can follow it up into the flowers. This was a living thing that moved. I've tried to look things up as to what this would have been. I left this alone on the porch for...

Here is a different view of the rose garden. Here on the bottom left is a climbing rose which at the moment is not up on its homemade trellis. Top left is a pink peony bush.. The green plant in the middle is the purple clematis. I will eventually post one when it is in full bloom it was absolutely beautiful.
You can see a steeping stone or two in this rose garden. I had a bird...

Here in the garden is a row of peonies. It was a couple of yards long. It had red peonies, white, and pink ones in the row. I love these flowers, and they smell so good. They can get top heavy so if you have a rain it will pull the flower heads down so they are drooping. Although if the flower head isn't to big they might stay in an upright position. You can always stake them. T...

If you noticed the other picture of this flower garden by the road from a previous post you will see that in this picture the roses are now open. If you take a look a the yucca plants you can see some of the white flowers at the bottom of the stems. I'm not sure anymore if they were ending here or just beginning to open. I probably will find pictures that I have taken of the yuc...
