Here is a picture of a spot where a new garden will eventually be. I'm getting the area cleaned up of all the junk that was there when we moved here. I have a lot more to go here. But I did get a lot cleaned up already. This white birch tree I'm going to leave here. I've chopped off some of the lower branches to make light for some annuals I planted on the side of the tree that I could di...

Here is the picture of our Rhododendron plants. I took a close up of the big plant with all the flowers on it. The new growth from this year is a few inches it's amazing at how fast they grow. You can trim them to keep them the shape you want. But I will be leaving them grow pretty much the way they grow, so they will grow big and form a privacy fence. When the flowers are done blooming i...

Here is a close up picture of my spirea. I got in real close and personal with this picture and focused on the flowers further away to give a different appearance for the closest flowers. The yellow and white of the flowers look nice against the green leaves of the plant. The spirea is one of the easiest shrubs to grow. The spirea is a member of the rose family. All spirea have s...

Here are the two rhododendrons we got. Here you can see them together. The plan is when they grow bigger in a few years to have a private hedge with them. That way in the summer time when we are out in the garden having a barbecue it will be harder for people walking or driving past to see into the yard while we are outside. The privacy fence even when not in bloom when they are ...

This picture of crocuses is in the yard in early spring, they had a nice spring with no snow that came down to lay on them. They just enjoyed the warm sun. This is a bunch of flowers together, this type of grouping is better looking then just having them in a row. A way of naturalizing them is when you plant them in the fall you can throw the bulbs up in the air and where they l...

This picture is of hollyhocks. A long row of hollyhocks and just look at the different colors. Pinks and reds. The hollyhock is a very beautiful flower. These are biennial plants. If you plant seeds for two years in a row, you will have continuous flowers because the seeds will drop and come back up the next year, and flower the next year. Some people call them a short lived per...
