Flowers in the Garden

A beautiful peony in full bloom. These get a little top heavy so if you can stake them up it will keep them standing upright through rainy spells, also as the plants get more flowers on.The smell on the pink peonies is faint and pretty.Although to me the white peony has a really nice fragrance. Not to leave the red peony out it also has I think a little stronger fragrace then the pink does.I love them all!

A little bit of a different angle.

A Fairy Lily or zephyranthes. It's also called a rain lily because in the wild it has a tendency to bloom after a rainfall.I do find this to be true of mine when we get a rain, pretty soon there are new flowers coming up.It's also a beautiful plant. There's only one bloom now but I get as many as 4 opening at one time.I have this just in an old pot on the porch in the summer time. When it starts to get cold I bring it in,and put it in the cellar.I just leave everything in the pot its in.Thinking of getting a pretty flower pot for them, but it's been in this same pot for over 10 yrs.Over winter I don't do anything to it,when warm weather comes around and there's no chance of frost,I take it back out on the sunny porch.Plant bulbs one and a half inches deep, and 3 inches apart.
