 Rockefeller Center is one the the more popular places to ice skate in New York City. During the holidays you will get to skate under the giant Christmas tree they have decorated. It is quite spectacular. If you go at this time the prices can be at a premium during the busiest time of the year. Prices also are different for time of day and season. I have seen this skating rink both in the day time and at night time, day time is fun but night time is amazing with all the lights on. Spectators that don't want to skate can stand up around the railings up above the rink, and if you're lucky enough you might get a table by the window at one of the restaurants that border the ice at rink level. That way you can stay warm and still enjoy the view. I myself have some earlier posts about this and we did not find out about the warmth of the restaurant till everyone was done skating and we went inside and found a window we could have sat and watched the others skate. Before you go on vacation is is important that you do as much informative searches and find out everything you can before you go. We all had a great time though. |
